Cargill has been present in Russia since 1991. Consequently Cargill enhanced operations in Russian regions. It is one of the biggest foreign investors in agro processing segment of Russian economy with the amount overrunning $1,3 billion USD. The company operates 9 plants at 4 locations, a grain terminal in Rostov and owns a minority shareholding in Novorossiysk deep-water port on the Black Sea. The total number of Cargill employees in Russia is about 2300 people.
